An early morning house fire on Joe Frazier Road in Burton kept firefighters busy for about three hours on Wednesday, according to a Burton Fire District news release.

Firefighters responded to the fire just before 6:30 a.m., finding no one home and no one injured, according to the release.

The fire was limited to the master bedroom of the single-story home, according to the release. It is being investigated by the Beaufort County Fire Scene Investigation Team.

Burton firefighter Ethan Webb was first on the scene, according to the release.

“We are here to help people who are in trouble. It’s what we do,” he said. “It’s tough to see it over and over, but we are glad to be the ones they call for help and we’re always ready.”

The district has responded to 35 emergency calls since Sept. 23, according to the release, including a five-motorcycle crash in the early evening hours of Sept. 24, a motorcycle versus car crash later that same evening and a two-vehicle crash the afternoon of Sept. 25.
