Third crash reported in Burton-area in less than 24 hours

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Trask Parkway and Parker Drive sent one driver to the hospital on Sunday afternoon.

A Chevrolet and a Hyundai collided, trapping the Hyundai driver in her car, according to a Burton Fire District news release.

She sustained non-life threatening injuries but was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital, according to the release.

Lanes heading south on Trask Parkway were blocked for about 45 minutes while the road was cleared and the drivers were attended to, according to the release.

This was the third crash within the Burton Fire District area in less than 24 hours. There was a four-motorcycle crash seriously injuring four people early Saturday evening and a vehicle versus motorcycle crash seriously injuring the motorcyclist later Saturday evening.
