Construction should be complete on a group of out-parcel buildings at the Sea Turtle Marketplace by March 9, said Tommy Smith, president Sandcastle Constructors, the contractor for the project.

Fiamma Italian Kitchen, Another Broken Egg, Jersey Mike’s, Nail Talk & Polished Spa and Orange Theory fitness center are planned to lease the buildings.

Smith said it could take a week before the developer hands over keys to the tenants.

The buildings’ interiors also will need to be customized by each tenants, Smith said.

Sandcastle has already completed construction on three anchor buildings — two of which are occupied. West Marine and Petsmart opened in the buildings last fall.

A relationship with Sandcastle and the developer of Sea Turtle Marketplace — Wheeler Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc. — has been strained throughout the project.

Representatives with Sandcastle recently said they are hesitant to work with Wheeler on future projects at the marketplace. The announcement came after the CEO, Jon. S. Wheeler, was fired from Wheeler Real Estate.

Construction halted in 2016 at the former Pineland Station site as Jon Wheeler worked at restructuring financing for the project.

Shortly after the holdup Kevin Kiernan of Sandcastle Constructors filed a $890,801 mechanics lien against the former and current property owners for work performed and materials supplied.
