Can I return to the barrier islands after evacuating?
No, not until the evacuation order is lifted.
Roadblocks will be set up at 10 a.m. Saturday for all barrier islands — one on U.S. 21 and another on U.S. 278 — so once you leave an island, you cannot return until the evacuation order is lifted, Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner said.
