A railroad manufacturer relocating to northern Beaufort County is hiring for a variety of jobs at its new facility.
Geismar has posted numerous positions to its website after announcing plans earlier this year to renovate a building on Parker Drive in the Burton area and move operations there. Among the available jobs are administrative positions, customer service representatives, assembly operators, managers and tech support.

Geismar makes a variety of tools for maintaining rail lines, including drills, grinders, wrenches and saws. The company also produces track-laying equipment and specialty vehicles like trolleys and vehicles equipped to inspect bridges and tunnels from the tracks.
The Beaufort operation will include manufacturing, distribution and sales. The company must create 45 full-time jobs at the new facility with an average starting pay of $24 per hour as part of a $750,000 incentive from Beaufort County to relocate here.
