  • Art Weekend starts Friday in Bluffton
    A Gallery Walk will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday in old town Bluffton as part of the town's Art Weekend. The work of more than 200 artists can be seen at the Society of Bluffton Artists' Gallery, Pluff Mudd Gallery, May River Gallery, Four Corners Framing, The Filling Station, Vintage Posters and Jacob Preston's.     Thirty members of the Sunscribers club of Sun City Hilton Head have written and published a book of fiction, essays and poetry titled, "Everything Under the Sun." They will host a book signing and question-and-answer session from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Bluffton Branch of the Beaufort County Library.     Though days have passed since I joined the audience at the May River Theatre for the matinee performance of "Jekyll and Hyde," the musical based on the gothic horror story by Robert Louis Stevenson, the menacing, almost unearthly sounds of Mr. Hyde's breathing and the carrying power of his voice still play in my memory. Spine chilling. Ihear Daniel Cort as Hyde say, sardonically, "sympathy ... tenderness," and my nervous system takes a leap. (full story)
