Darius Rucker will be on Hilton Head at least twice this spring. Here’s where to see him

If you plan to attend the RBC Heritage golf tournament on Hilton Head in April, keep your eyes out for Grammy winner Darius Rucker.

The Hootie and the Blowfish frontman and solo artist attended last year’s tournament as a PGA Tour brand ambassador. This year, he will be there representing his home state as South Carolina tourism ambassador, according to a news release Monday from the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

“Darius Rucker is a home grown star with a genuine love of his state,” the agency’s director Duane Parrish, said in the release about the Charleston native and former Gamecock.

As tourism ambassador, Rucker will appear in ads and social media as part of the state’s DiSCover campaign. He’ll also be featured in the state’s 2020 vacation guide.

Before Heritage, though, Rucker will be on Hilton Head March 6-8 for the 9th annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, which features 17 women’s college golf teams at Long Cove Club. Admission is free for golf spectators, but the companion concert is a private event.

Rucker isn’t the only musician for celeb watchers to look out for at the annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links. Jimmy Buffett is in concert April 16 in Charleston, right in the middle of Heritage Week, which runs April 13-19.

Buffett is known to be a golf fan, but his representatives would not say last month whether he would be attending the Hilton Head tournament.
