Expect delays on Bluffton Parkway this week. Here’s when and where

Drivers on Bluffton Parkway should expect delays this week starting Sunday due to a road paving project, according to a press release from Preferred Materials, Inc.

The busy Beaufort County roadway will stay open, but crews will close lanes between Buckwalter Parkway and S.C. Highway 170 during daytime hours. Flaggers will direct traffic.

The release said the project is scheduled to start Sunday and end on March 21, but these dates could be delayed or advanced because of weather conditions.

There will be lane closures and delays on Bluffton Parkway between Buckwalkter Parkway and Okatie Highway (S.C. Highway 170) between March 15 and 21 for a paving project, according to a news release.

Blake Martin, a project manager for APAC-Atlantic, Inc., said in an email that the project is slated to take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day to avoid causing slowdowns for commuters or interfering with school traffic. The exact hours are to be determined by the sub-contractor that is completing the work, he said.
