All lanes closed in section of Bluffton Parkway due to heavy rain Thursday afternoon
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is reporting standing water on Bluffton Parkway near Masters Way due to heavy rain in Bluffton, according to a Friday press release.
Police closed lanes for through traffic on Bluffton Parkway between Buckwalter Parkway to Masters Way around 12:30 p.m., and the lanes remained closed as of 4:15 p.m.
Cars were being rerouted up Masters Way past Bluffton High School.
The access road to Bluffton Early Childhood Center has also been closed, according to Beaufort County School District spokesman Jim Foster.
Bluffton ECC students will be dismissed at their regular time from the main entrance at Bluffton Elementary School, which is located directly behind the ECC, Foster said.
Police are urging drivers to use caution in the area.
There is also standing water on Buck Island Road.
The rain should stop soon — Friday is predicted to be sunny with a 10 percent chance of rain, The Weather Channel reported.
