Man arrested after teenager was targeted by bullets in Beaufort Co., police say

Deputies have arrested a suspected gunman after a teenager and his home were targeted with gunfire in northern Beaufort County.

Neaemiah Nasir Silas Green-Rogers, 21, was charged Friday morning with attempted murder, inmate records show.

Investigators say a 17-year-old male victim was shot at by Green-Rogers outside a home on Charity Drive in the Burton area around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The teen was not injured, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, but additional shots were fired at the home as he retreated inside.

It was one of two shootings in the Burton area that police were investigating as connected cases, sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Daniel Allen said.

A second home was damaged by gunfire about 12 hours later on Capehart Circle, located about 2.5 miles from the first crime scene. None of the people inside were injured, police said.

Green-Rogers remained in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center as of Sunday morning, according to jail records.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the lead investigator, Sgt. Lidey, at 843-255-3294. Information can be submitted anonymously through the Crime Stoppers of Beaufort County website, the P3 Tips mobile app or by calling 844-TIPS-BFT.
