3 motorcycles stolen in 3 days in northern Beaufort County
The third motorcycle in as many days was reported stolen in northern Beaufort County early this week.
A $6,000 silver 2007 Suzuki GSX was stolen from a Colony Gardens Road parking lot between 9 p.m. on Monday and 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the most recent Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report made available Wednesday. The owner noticed it was missing from the parking lot when he was about to leave for work, he told deputies.
A $4,000 black 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1 was also reported stolen from a Colony Gardens Road parking lot overnight on Monday, according to another report made available Tuesday. Both Colony Gardens Road thefts were reported Tuesday morning when their owners noticed they were missing.
The first motorcycle, an orange and red Kawasaki ZX-10 worth about $4,000, was stolen from a Dale home off Keans Neck Road overnight on Saturday.
A $1,000 boat motor was also stolen from a trailer parked at a Lady’s Island home on Jasper Lane sometime between April 29 and May 2, according to a report. The owner was in the process of moving when the motor went missing.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Bob Bromage said on Wednesday there is reason to believe the two Colony Gardens Road thefts could be related, but that nothing so far connects the other two thefts.
