Breeze Airways to launch new Savannah/Hilton Head flight service. Here’s when, where

Ready to trade the Lowcountry marshes for Florida beaches?

Travelers will soon have another nonstop flight option as Breeze Airways continues to expand its footprint at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

Beginning May 7, the airline will offer nonstop service between Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, with one-way fares starting at $49. Tickets are available for booking now at FlyBreeze.com.

Only one other airline, Allegiant Air, offers nonstop service between Savannah/Hilton Head and Fort Lauderdale. Allegiant operates flights on Mondays, Fridays, and select Sundays and Thursdays. In addition, American Airlines offers direct service to the nearby Miami International Airport daily.

Breeze’s growing presence at Savannah/Hilton Head

Breeze Airways is also adding twice-weekly nonstop service between Savannah/Hilton Head and Akron-Canton, Ohio, beginning May 7.

The Fort Lauderdale and Akron-Canton routes will join Breeze’s existing offerings from Savannah to:

  • Hartford, CT
  • Providence, RI
  • Westchester, NY
  • New Orleans, LA

At nearby Charleston International Airport, Breeze has also announced new nonstop service to Atlantic City, New Jersey, beginning May 6. That route will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How Savannah/Hilton Head is growing to meet demand

In 2025, SAV served more than 4.2 million passengers and continues to set travel records.

About 4.1 million passengers traveled through the airport in 2024, up from 3.9 million in 2023, 2.8 million in 2021, and roughly 3 million in 2019.

To accommodate rapid growth, the airport is adding four new gates and more than 43,000 square feet of additional space.

Founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, who also founded JetBlue, Breeze Airways states that it emphasizes convenience and direct connections for markets often overlooked by larger carriers.

The airline was certified as a U.S. flag carrier in the fall of 2025, becoming the first new airline in more than a decade to receive the designation.
