Construction starts on 350+ apartments on Hardeeville’s Argent Boulevard. What we know
More housing is coming to Hardeeville’s busy Argent Boulevard as construction begins on 354 cottage-style apartment homes.
The new development, Argent Cottage Apartment Homes, is owned by Sands Companies and will include one- and two-story apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms. Living space will be between 510 and 1,293 square feet with rent starting at $1,440.
The property is located at the intersection with New River Parkway and the first phase of the cottages is expected to be completed in the spring or summer of 2023.
“We chose Hardeeville for our next development because of how close it is to popular areas like Hilton Head and Savannah,” Sands President Joe Morrison said in a news release. “Residents who work in these destination towns need a place to retreat and call home. Argent Cottages does that while offering the privacy of a detached home and flexibility of renting while tying in the coastal charm of its locale.”
The community will also include a resort-style pool, an outdoor kitchen with grilling stations, fire pit, putting green, and bocce ball. Amenities inside the clubhouse will include an entertainment kitchen and private workstation pods.
This is Sands Companies’ first development in the Jasper-Beaufort area, but it has multiple in Myrtle Beach and one in nearby Savannah as well.
Argent Boulevard is about a 5-mile road connecting U.S. 278 near the Hardeeville Walmart and S.C. 170 in Okatie on the outskirt of Jasper County. Many apartment complexes and some businesses have been built along the high-traffic road. A major expansion of Sun City Hilton Head was also announced last year with 1,500 new houses planned in the area.
This construction comes at a time when development in the region continues to boom, including in nearby Bluffton with the Malind Bluff project expected to include housing, construction in the works for 252 units behind Buckwalter Place, 50 townhomes planned for Washington Square, and multiple new apartment complexes opening with the last couple years.
