Enmarket OK’d for prominent Beaufort intersection. Here’s what it will replace
A new convenience store is coming to two lots at a prominent intersection in Beaufort once occupied by a gas station and restaurant.
Final approval of an Enmarket on Ribaut Road at First Boulevard came Thursday from the Design Review Board. The DRB OK’d the project in concept in August.
Plans call for demolishing an old single-story Shell station, in addition to the former Red Rooster cafe located next door. That will make way for construction of the 4,828 square-foot convenience store, 1,270 square-foot car wash and 4,948 square-foot fuel canopy.
Savannah-based Enmarket operates at 129 locations Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. It bills itself as a gas station that also offers freshly prepared food such as sandwiches and salads.
