Bluffton board to discuss future of historic Old Town site
The future of one of Old Town Bluffton's historic properties will be discussed tonight at a meeting of the town's Historic Preservation Commission.
A local architecture firm will give the commission a glimpse at potential redevelopment opportunities for the corner lot at the intersection of Calhoun and Bridge streets.
The site is the former home of Old Town landmarks Eggs 'N' Tricites and the Filling Station Art Gallery, both of which moved to Lawton Street last year.
Conceptual plans for redevelopment include the construction of at least four new mixed-use buildings and could require demolishing the historic gas station on the property.
Historic Preservation Commission meets at 6 p.m. in the large meeting room at Town Hall, 20 Bridge St. The meeting is open to the public.
