Lucas: Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra salutes Strauss and Beethoven

Violin virtuoso Paul Huang will join the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra this weekend as the orchestra's 34th season continues.

The orchestra will feature the music of Strauss and Beethoven. Huang will perform Saint-Saens' Violin Concerto No. 3.

The performances will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 31 and 8 p.m. Feb. 1, at Hilton Head's First Presbyterian Church, 540 W. Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head.

Maestro John Morris Russell will give a pre-concert chat one hour before each performance.

A reception for the performers and audience will follow Monday night's performance in the church's gathering space.

Tickets range from $30-$55. Reduced price tickets are available for children with an accompanying parent on Sundays.
