Beaufort All Stars win, head into Dixie Boys World Series finals

The Beaufort County All Star Team defeated the team from Monroe, La., 17-10, on Tuesday night to advance to the finals of the Dixie Boys World Series.

Beaufort County’s 14U team faces the winner of a game between Hattiesburg, Miss., and Springhill, Fla., in the championship Wednesday at Oscar Frazier Park in Bluffton. Games begin at 10 a.m.

Rain delayed the start of the Tuesday games​ more than two​ hours.

The double-elimination tournament ​that started Saturday ​featured 12 teams in each of the 13U and 14U ​age ​divisions.

In the 13U age division on Tuesday, the team from Jefferson Parish, La., defeated Nacogdoches, Texas, 10-7. West Seminole, Fla., was playing the Hattiesburg, Miss., team late Tuesday for a spot in the Dixie Junior Boys finals.
