How is travel on the backroads between Savannah and Bluffton?

Both U.S. 17 and S.C. 170 are unrestricted for travel from Savannah to Jasper and Beaufort counties, as well as May River Road as it splits off from S.C. 170.

Only a handful of residential roads remain closed near those routes: Good Hope Road (flooding), Jenkins Avenue (fallen trees) and Pine Arbor Road (power lines).

Travelers also can monitor real-time road conditions via the S.C. Department of Transportation’s new 511SC.org website and mobile application.
