While Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue has responded to 16 medical calls since Saturday, none were for injuries related to Hurricane Matthew, according to fire marshal Joheida Fister.
Ten people complained of being sick, faint, short of breath, or experiencing chest pain or dehydration. Two people needed dialysis. Of the last four calls, one person injured their wrist, another fell, one was a walk-in to fire and rescue and another, at about 6 p.m. Saturday, drove a vehicle into a ditch.
That individual was transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital.
The fire department has also responded to 20 fire alarm calls and one structure fire, one fuel spill, and 13 welfare checks.
