Are there people robbing, casing homes in Northern Beaufort County?

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office hasn’t received any reports of people casing neighborhoods on Lady’s Island and St. Helena Island.

All of Beaufort County is being “proactively patrolled” by deputies “for as long as it’s safe to be out there,” Capt. Bob Bromage said Thursday evening.

Beaufort and Port Royal police departments also said there had been no reports of burglaries as of Thursday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office has stepped up patrols of homes and businesses, Bromage said. And residents should call 911 to report suspicious activity.

“We are looking for that kind of activity,” Bromage said. “Like we always say, if you see something, say something.”
