Readers and emergency officials shared photos and video of the fallout, including these recordings of downed trees at the Island Postal Center at 13 Bow Circle on Hilton Head Island:

“I saw (two) towering pine trees that had collapsed in the parking lot of the Island Postal Center,” reader Karen Marts said in an email to The Island Packet. Birdwatching when the storm kicked off, Marts described a chaotic drive home, with whipping winds and flying limbs.

“A huge tree limb just missed a friend’s SUV,” Marts said.

At Hilton Head’s Wexford Plantation, trees split and fell.

In Beaufort a family was displaced after a large tree crashed through their home.
