Brutal assault of Baxley restauranteur and her daughter caught on video

What started as a verbal altercation over cold food at the Quik Chik restaurant in Baxley quickly escalated as Jeanette Norris and her 15-year-old daughter were severely beaten Thursday, WTOC reports. The entire incident was captured on video.

The two suspects were arguing with Norris when one of them, Latasha Smith, began attacking her. The other suspect, identified as Eric Smith, tries at several points to intervene, but when Norris’ daughter steps out of a nearby truck to come to her mother’s aid, he punches the teenager in the face.

Baxley police have issued arrest warrants both suspects on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to children.

The Smiths were regulars at the restaurant whose recent behavior had become erratic.

Norris suffered a broken nose in the incident. Both victims suffered bruises and black eyes.

The suspects fled the scene in a cream or silver colored 2007 Cadillac Escalade with a Georgia licence plate number of REU8495. Police said that there are two other vehicles they might have access to, a silver 2004 Cadillac DeVille 4S with Georgia plate number PVK5483, and a green 1996 Cadillac DeVille 4S with Georgia plate number BXQ1673, WTOC reports.

If you have any information on the suspects, you are encouraged to call Baxley police at 912-367-8305.
