Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office

Two unidentified men got away with nearly $2,000 in Apple iPads on Tuesday after they allegedly pulled open a storeage cabinet door at the Hilton Head Island Wal-Mart and walked out without paying.

The theft was reported by an employee of the Pembroke Drive store around 3:50 a.m., according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The deputy witnessed two white or Hispanic men on surveillance video pulling open a door where the iPads were stored. The pair each took two iPads, placed them under their shirts and walked out of the store.

The pair then got into a light-colored Honda Odyssey minivan with South Carolina license plates and drove away.

The first suspect was described as being between 5-feet-5-inches tall and 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds. The man was last seen wearing a white hat, blue jeans and a striped polo shirt.

The second suspect appeared to be between 5-feet-7-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall and around 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue Hilton Head Island hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
