Which Lowcountry town made Southern Living’s list for ‘Walkable Girlfriend Getaways?’

Looking for a walkable, fun place for a quick getaway with your girlfriends?

Southern Living has some recommendations — including a very familiar local city.

Beaufort was named to the magazine’s recently published list of “10 Walkable Girlfriend Getaways.”

The list, written by Katherine Owen, calls Beaufort one of the magazine’s “absolute favorite small towns” and “perfect for a brief vacation.”

“The more than 300-year-old downtown is surrounded by scenic river views, and is filled with entertainment for a quick getaway,” according to the list.

Beaufort wasn’t the only Lowcounty city to make Southern Living’s list — Savannah and Charleston were also included.

Rounding out the list of 10 Walkable Girlfriend Getaways were Washington; Bentonville, Ark.; Asheville N.C.; San Antonio, Texas; Chattanooga, Tenn.; New Orleans; and Richmond, Va.
