Charges being considered as 4 days of moving animals out of Roy’s Aquarium wrap up

Authorities finished a multi-day search of Roy’s Aquarium Friday afternoon and are now considering whether to file criminal charges for “those responsible for the apparent neglect of the animals” at the Beaufort pet store, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office news release.

“Over the last four days, hundreds of animals were safely moved from the business to a temporary facility in order for veterinarians to provide needed care and treatment,” the release said.

“No one has been charged as of this time,” but investigators are still evaluating evidence, according to the release.
