Six unlocked cars broken into at Beaufort apartment complex

Six instances of theft from unlocked vehicles at Bay South Apartments on Mossy Oaks Road in Beaufort were reported on Wednesday, according to a Beaufort Police Department report.

All six are believed related and police are looking for suspects, department spokeswoman Sgt. Hope Able said Thursday. The thefts occurred between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the report said.

The stolen items were valued at nearly $1,800 and included cash, a purse, a wallet, a bag, an iPod, a cell phone, a knife and CDs, Able said.
