The Beaufort County School Board will hold a special-called meeting to discuss Superintendent Jeff Moss’ annual evaluation at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the district office, 2900 Mink Point Blvd. in Beaufort.

Last year the board chose not to include Moss’ decision to change the district’s nepotism rule and approve the hiring of his wife in a high-paying district position because the review period was from July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015, which was before Moss’ actions were brought to light in September 2015. He received high marks in that evaluation.

The period of review for this year’s evaluation is July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016, which includes the public fallout after the hiring of his wife, ethics charges from the South Carolina Ethics Commission and his public reprimand from the commission after he admitted guilt to two of the three charges.

The review will be discussed in closed session and possibly voted on in an open session afterward.
