Lady’s Island man arrested, charged with girlfriend’s murder
A man was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with the murder of his girlfriend after the victim was found with a gunshot wound by law enforcement and transported to the Medical University of South Carolina where she later died from her injury.
Jamie Robinson, 44, of Lady’s Island was arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in connection to the murder of Eulia Moon, 47, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Officers responded to Little Capers Road on Lady’s Island in reference to a gunshot victim, according to the report. On the scene, deputies discovered Moon in a vehicle outside of 44 Little Capers Road suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound
Moon was transported by EMS to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and then flown to the Medical University of South Carolina for further treatment. The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office was later notified that she died at MUSC as a result of her injuries.
During the investigation, emergency dispatch received a tip that the suspect, Robinson, was at a residence on Sams Point Road. Robinson was detained at the home by deputies.
According to the Sheriff’s Office news release, Robinson provided accounts while being interviewed by investigators that were contradictory to evidence found at the scene and statements from other witnesses. After his interview, Robinson was arrested for attempted murder and transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
Once the Sheriff’s Office received word that Moon had died from a gunshot wound, Robinson was arrested for murder at the detention center this afternoon.
The report states that Robinson’s bond will be set on a date to be determined. MUSC officials have scheduled to perform a forensic autopsy on Moon Sunday.
Anyone with information regarding Moon’s murder is urged by the Sheriff’s Office to contact Staff Sgt. Adam Zsamar at 843-255-3408 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CrimeSC.
