You’ll need to reschedule that 2016 trip to Hunting Island State Park

Hunting Island State Park is closed for the remainder of 2016, according to the South Carolina State Parks.

A post on their website and Facebook said the park suffered the some of the worst damage out of the 14 state parks that are currently closed in Hurricane Matthew’s aftermath.

South Carolina State Parks wrote in a Facebook post that it will take months of work before the park will be open again and all reservations are canceled and refunded through December 2016.

A representative with the State Parks reservation office said there is not an opening date for the park at this time.
