Owe Beaufort County property taxes? Time is running out to pay

The Beaufort County treasurer’s office will hold its annual delinquent property tax sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 3 at the Charles Lind Brown Gymnasium, 1001 Hamar Street, Beaufort.

Taxpayers who want to prevent their property from being auctioned have until 5 p.m. on Friday to pay any outstanding taxes, according to a news release from Beaufort County Treasurer Maria Walls.

An interactive map of properties set to be auctioned is available online at www.beaufortcountytreasurer.com.

Those interested in bidding at the tax sale must register online or in person before noon on Friday.

On the day of the sale, bidder sign-in will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 9 a.m., the release said.

All property recording fees will be determined the day of the sale and must be paid in full with the winning bid.
