What’s old is becoming something new at Hilton Head’s Main Street Center
The place where Hilton Head Island used to go to bowl, Main Street Lanes, is morphing into a plaza called Main Street Center, which will feature four or five tenants when finished, according to building owners Karen and Mike Silek. In the process, the bowling lanes have been pulled up and taken away by their owner, the AMF Bowling Co.
Occupying that space is the new center’s first tenant, Osprey Village Thrift on Main, which sells used furniture, clothing and other items to raise funds for the proposed Osprey Village neighborhood for developmentally disabled adults, said Jerry Manuel, executive director of Osprey Village. The thrift opened on March 23.
The center’s second tenant, Club Seats, is now under construction. The gastropub-themed restaurant will feature sports and music and have a large selection of craft brews, said co-owner Rob Hummel. He said he expects Club Seats to open on Aug. 1.
The other tenants of the center have yet to be announced, said Mike Silek.
