Hilton Head Council approves private beach funds

Hilton Head Town Council unanimously approved a budget Tuesday that includes $300,000 for the renourishment of Pine Island beach in the Hilton Head Plantation neighborhood.

A motion — asking for further review of the project by town staff before funds are released to the neighborhood — failed. Only Mayor David Bennett and council member David Ames voted in favor of the motion.
