Jamie Lee Curtis in Lowcountry for ‘Halloween’ filming. Here’s where she’s been spotted
With the new “Halloween” movie filming this month in the Lowcountry, reported sightings of star Jamie Lee Curtis and other celebrities are popping up online.
Curtis, who plays Laurie Strode in the film series, caused a flurry of excitement among fans when she announced last October that she’d be returning to her role in the latest adaptation.
The actress reported to the North Charleston set on Wednesday with her fluffy white dog, according to photos posted by Charleston City Paper.
On Friday morning, the Post and Courier newspaper reported, Curtis was seen getting coffee — a 1 percent latte, for the curious — in workout clothes at Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer.
“She wasn’t there for long. She just got her coffee to go,” one customer told the newspaper.
On Thursday, Curtis posted a photo on her own Instagram and Twitter accounts of a shooting target with a single bullet hole and this caption: “First shot. 357. Feels good to have Laurie back on set for @halloweenmovie #HalloweenMovie.” The photo was liked more than 7,000 times on Instagram and more than 2,000 times on Twitter.
Local social media reports have shown off sets, such as a high school transformed into Haddonfield High and film crews working at a BP gas station.
And actors and actresses cast in the film also have posted photos from Charleston.
Judy Greer, who is playing Strode’s daughter Karen, was asked Wednesday by a fan on Instagram when she would be filming “Halloween.”
“Here. Now. Starting!” Greer replied.
Andi Matichak, who has been cast as Strode’s granddaughter, and Miles Robbins — the son of Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins and a musician and DJ who also has a role in the film — along with executive producer Danny McBride have all posted photos from the sets on their own Instagram accounts this week.
Matichak showed off a row of director’s chairs with a jack-o’-lantern painted on the back of one. McBride also posted a photo of a director’s chair, this one with “The Shape” written on it.
Robbins, with Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold and Drew Scheid — who reportedly will portray the friends of Matichak’s character Allyson — posted Instagram stories about a visit to the Old Charleston Jail for a ghost tour earlier in the week.
