Mindy's Outtakes: Visiting Beaufort? Check out First Friday After Five
For daytrippers, out-of-towners or anyone thinking of visiting Beaufort, you may want to check out the town's First Friday After Five coming up this Friday, Oct. 2.
Participating galleries and businesses will stay open for extended hours -- generally until 8 p.m. -- the first Friday of every month.
"Visitors can expect a casual evening of food, live music, art, shopping and fun," said Mary Thibault, co-owner of the Thibault Gallery on Bay Street.
In addition, many of the area's artists will be on hand to talk about their work.
"In our gallery, our artists are here that evening along with our new featured artist," Thibault said. "Plus, you can hear the story behind the art. Each artist has a story of what compelled them to create their piece of art and are always willing to share their inspiration."
