Lowcountry Masters swimmers establish 10 new state age-group records
Four Lowcountry Masters swimmers have been certified as new South Carolina age-group recordholders from the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship that concluded earlier this month in Greensboro, N.C.
Pete Palmer has his name on four new records in the Men’s 80-84 division, establishing new standards in the 200-yard individual medley and freestyle distances of 500, 1,000 and 1,650 yards.
David Painter’s winning time in the 50 freestyle broke the state record for Men 75-79, adding new marks in the 100 backstroke and 200 IM. Barbara Eisele lowered the Women’s 85-89 standards in the 50 butterfly and 200 breaststroke, and Jim Carrol set a new Men’s 70-74 record in the 1,000 freestyle.
The next competiton for Lowcountry Masters will be the South Carolina Long Course Meters Championships, set for June 17-19 in Greenville.
