Sun City team wins state 55-plus tennis crown

The Sun City Harpy Eagles captured first place at last week’s USTA League South Carolina state championship at Palmetto Dunes, winning the Men’s 3.0 division for ages 55-plus.

The 12-man squad, captained by Rick Taylor, went unbeaten in four tournament matches, following an 8-0 regular season. The team earned a berth in the USGA Southern Sectional championships, to be played in September in Asheville, N.C.
