Swimmers lower age-group records at Dixie Zone Masters meet

Barbara Eisele and Joanne Stewart combined to break five state age-group records while competing at the Dixie Zone Masters Long Course Championships last weekend in Goldsboro, N.C.

Eisele, swimming for the Lowcountry Masters, lowered three of her own women’s 85-89 records in the 50-meter freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. She also established a new mark for the 800 freestyle.

Stewart, of the Sun City Hilton Head Swim Club, set a new 200 breaststroke record in the women’s 75-79 division. That performance came two weeks after she set two other state marks at the USA Masters Games in Greensboro, N.C.
