Hurricane Matthew set loose some property damage you never thought about — a herd of pigs on Hilton Head Island.
“We did have wind gusts of 110 miles per hour or better, so the next time you hear someone say ‘when pigs fly’ tell them it’s already happened,” Brian Goode said Wednesday.

The pigs were captured on camera by Larry Jordan, Goode’s neighbor in the Old House Creek subdivision off Spanish Wells Road.
Jordan was checking on property for neighbors who had left when he came upon the pigs. He had a pitchfork to get debris off of stormwater drains and was glad he did because he was suddenly outnumbered by six pigs.
“It was funny at first, but if you could see the damage they did to my neighbors’ yards, it isn’t so funny,” Jordan said.
Two people ran them off, but not before the pigs rooted up yards over several blocks.
They are believed to have come from up Spanish Wells Road — near the sighting earlier this week of a loose herd of goats.
