First look: Hilton Head’s Main Street Burger King stood in water 4 feet high
While most storm water had receded from Hilton Head Island’s Main Street by Sunday, a line of dirt and debris — still apparent Wednesday morning — revealed how deeply flooded many businesses were.
At Burger King, that line is about 4-feet high, just under the door handles and nearly covering the trash cans and drive-thru intercom stations.
Signs on the windows say the restaurant would be closed until Sunday — three days ago — for Hurricane Matthew. There was no sign of owners, staff or clean-up crews on Wednesday morning.
