Storm floods Hilton Head’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Meeting Street, off Main Street, Tyler Construction was out early Tuesday pushing trees out of the parking lot and road.

The church was a construction sight to start with — a large addition was underway — and now even more so.

Randy McLean, of the construction crew, said the property was completely underwater.

"The creek behind it flooded. It was in the church," he said. "It is a lot of damage."

While a machinery handled the heavy lifting, one member of the crew worked at the base of the church, shoveling mud and dirt away from the temporary homewrap that covered the church's exposed exterior.
