Search for missing 22-year-old Midlands woman last seen leaving hospital, police say

A search is underway for a woman last seen leaving a Midlands hospital, the Sumter Police Department said.

Police are asking for the community’s help in locating Olivia Phillips, who was reported missing Sunday.

The 22-year-old Sumter woman was last seen Saturday, leaving Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, police said in a news release.

There is concern for her safety, according to the release.

Police described Phillips as a 5-foot-9, 190-pound woman with blond hair and blue eyes.

In an unrelated case, police are searching for a missing Sumter man.

Willie Bernard Sims Sr., has not been seen since Feb. 27, according to the release.

A family member saw the 61-year-old on Charles Street, about 3-4 miles from his Sumter home, police said.

Police said Sims is a 5-7, 197-pound man who is mostly bald with brown eyes.

Like Phillips’ case, police said they are concerned about Sims’ well being.
