Bacon leaves Beaufort County school board race

Beaufort County Board of Education candidate Stephen Bacon withdrew from the race for incumbent Paul Roth’s seat Saturday and offered his support to another candidate.

Bacon announced his decision to pull out of the District 6 race in an email to The Island Packet, pledging support to Patricia Felton-Montgomery of Sun City Hilton Head.

An Air Force veteran and longtime teacher, Bacon previously ran for Beaufort County Council.
