Don’t wait; last day to register to vote for president coming soon

The last day for South Carolina residents to register to vote in the Nov. 8 general election is Oct. 8.

In Beaufort County, voters can register in person between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the county’s board of elections office in Beaufort, 15 John Galt Rd.

The office in Bluffton, 61B Ulmer Rd., will register voters in person between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., and again between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., on Wednesdays only, according to a news release from the elections board.

Voters can register online at www.scvotes.org or download a registration application at www.bcgov.net/vote.

A valid state ID is required to register, the release said.
