‘Total sweetheart’ of a dog just needs a chance after 716 days at Indiana shelter
A pup in Indiana has been patiently waiting for someone to choose her to adopt and love — for over 700 days.
Piper, a photogenic 4-year-old terrier, pit bull mix, wants nothing but the safety and love of a good home and a family. She’s been waiting at the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers and as well as a foster home, her pet profile says.
But it’s time for her to finally set roots.
“715 days. That’s how long Piper has been waiting. Two summers have come and gone. Two Christmases. Two birthdays,” the shelter said in a June 9 Facebook post.
“Piper has blossomed in her foster home. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and a total sweetheart once she feels safe. She plays tug-of-war like a champ, sleeps like a queen, and has so much love to give, she just needs someone willing to give her a chance.”
Piper’s likes and dislikes, according to her pet profile, include:
Not a fan of dogs or cats (she needs the spotlight)
Gets along with older kids (teens)
Hates being startled (no one likes being spooked)
Loves when people respect her boundaries
“Piper is looking for a family that can offer her the guidance, encouragement, and lots of love she deserves,” her profile says.
She is also spayed and weighs 57 pounds.
And yes, she’s just as cute as she appears in her photos.
“Piper has a flair for posing pretty for the camera, capturing hearts with her adorable side. If you’re ready for a playful, affectionate companion who brings the sparkle everywhere she goes, Piper might just be the perfect match for you,” her profile says.
