Showcasing the subtlety in her sound — with a hint of Ariana Grande — a 21-year-old singer from Texas received a coveted 4-chair turn on “The Voice” on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Cibolo, Texas, native Grace Bello, who recently moved to Lacey, Washington, had her pick of Camila Cabello, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton after they were all impressed by her cover of “Ghost” by Justin Bieber.

Legend turned his chair first for Bello and later complimented the Texan on her understated performance.

“So many times we get singers with these big beautiful voices on the show and they do really well, but we also have those singers who are also way more subtle,” he said. “You just have so much control, your tone is so beautiful.”

Stefani said it is rare for a singer to show as many sides of their voice as Bello did.

“You were able to get tender with your voice and really listen to the lyrics of what you are saying, and that’s also rare for someone so young,” Stefani told Bello.

Her voice was also called “magical” by Shelton, who pleaded for Bello to join his team despite not having a pop music background.

But Bello ultimately chose Cabello, who said she heard “a little bit of Ariana (Grande)“ in Bello’s sound.

“Her voice did have a really angelic quality to it,” Cabello later said.
