GA man bought $5 lottery ticket at a Beaufort gas station. Now, he’s buying a new car
Armando Aguilar of Gainesville, Georgia, is buying a new car for his birthday thanks to a lottery ticket he bought at a Beaufort gas station for $5, according to a release from the S.C. Education Lottery.
Aguilar bought a Green and Gold scratch-off ticket at the Lady’s Island Shell at 96 Sea Island Parkway during a recent trip to Beaufort, the release said.
On Nov. 22, Aguilar got a check for $125,000 — the top prize — for scratching the winning numbers.
“It had been awhile since I’d bought a ticket,” Aguilar said in the release. “I’m glad I did.”
The gas station that sold the ticket also received a commission of $1,250.
Odds of winning the top prize in the Green and Gold game are 1 in 660,000, the release said.
