Update: Bluffton woman identified as driver in fatal Sunday crash on US 278

A Bluffton woman is dead after a two-vehicle wreck Sunday evenign at US 278 and Rose Hill Way.

Perry Weston, 73, was driving a 2015 Toyota four-door. She attempted to turn left off eastbound 278 onto Rose Hill Way around 6:35 p.m., according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Beaufort County Coroner's Office.

Weston's vehicle was struck by a 2007 Dodge pickup traveling westbound on U.S. 278, the patrol said.

The driver of the Dodge was not injured.

Weston died Monday, according to Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen.
