Hilton Head woman one of two people killed in Hardeeville crash Monday, officials say

The coroner identified two people killed Monday morning in a Hardeeville crash with a tractor-trailer as a Hilton Head woman and a man from Edgefield County, South Carolina.

Ana Pressley, 44, and 41-year-old Thomas Hillard were killed in the crash on Stiney Road near Highway 321, said Jasper County Coroner Willie P. Aiken III.

Both Pressley and Hillard were pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy for the two will take place Wednesday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

The two were in a Mitsubishi car driven by Pressley around 8:40 a.m. when they crashed, according to Aiken and previous Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette reporting. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Additional details on the crash were not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

The Hardeeville Police Department is investigating.
