Two dead in Monday morning crash with tractor-trailer in Hardeeville, officials say

Two people were killed Monday morning after a “major” crash on Stiney Road near Highway 321 in Hardeeville, according to a city alert and the Hardeeville Police Department.

The crash happened at 8:40 a.m. between a Mitsubishi car and a tractor-trailer, said Chief Sam Woodward with the Hardeeville Police Department. The two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Names and other identifying details for the two people in the car will not be released until the family has been notified. Additional details, including what caused the crash, were not immediately available as the investigation continued.

The Hardeeville Police Department is investigating the crash.

Traffic has been impacted and drivers are being told to avoid the area of Stiney Road near Highway 321 in Hardeeville, according to an alert from the city.
