The good news? More parking is coming to Old Town Bluffton. So what’s the bad news?

Dr. Mellichamp Drive streetscape project have closed a portion of the road between Promenade Street and Goethe Road, according to a town news release.

Crews are installing new drainage pipes, concrete curbs and storm drain boxes, and parking spaces on Dr. Mellichamp Drive, the release said.

Work is expected to continue into early 2018.

Access to all businesses on Dr. Mellichamp Drive will available during the closure process via Bluffton Road and Promenade Street, according to the release.
